I’ve now spent a big chunk of two days picking a theme for this blog. I’ve been trying to find a theme that is: easy to use, friendly, professional, easy to manage, attractive, and so on. Good luck! There’s a lot of crap out there–themes that are ugly, unfriendly, unprofessional, full of borderline malware, and downright UGH-ly.
“Oh, but with just a few hundred lines of CSS…” NO! I will not stoop to CSS coding to make a theme workable. I’m sorry, but I just won’t. Having been a programmer for many years, I have no patience for an “almost completed project.”
I will, however, happily pay for quality. So, I’ll test-drive this free version of the Author theme for a while and, if I really like it, I’ll spend $49 to buy the Pro version. I have no problem with that at all–if (and only if) I can be confident that what I’m buying is a finished product that will work for my intended purpose.
